About Us

Islam's own pedagogy, made practical for the modern classroom.

Our Story

Educators and scholars, both classical and contemporary, have long sought a comprehensive pedagogical methodology capable of defining the techniques, elements, and standards suitable for the various stages of childhood.

It is truly regrettable that many Muslims and Islamic schools turn to Western pedagogical models while missing the fact that Islam itself offers foundational principles and effective techniques for all they have found difficult to solve.

It is within this context that AIMS was born — to facilitate children's learning of their religion through a methodology suited to the modern age.

The Early Childhood Stage (First Seven Years)

The early childhood stage begins from the age of weaning until the end of the sixth or seventh year of the child's life. It is the most important educational phase for linguistic, cognitive, and social development — the stage of forming the psychological foundation upon which the pillars of mental and moral health are built.

It is narrated by Ibn Abi Shaybah that the Prophet ﷺ used to teach the young boy from Banu 'Abd al-Muttalib, when he became articulate, the saying of Allah Almighty:

وَقُلِ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي لَمْ يَتَّخِذْ وَلَدًا وَلَمْ يَكُن لَّهُ شَرِيكٌ فِي الْمُلْكِ

“And say, ‘Praise be to Allah, who has not taken a son and has no partner in sovereignty.’”

Surah Al-Isra, 17:111

Some of the early generations of Muslims (al-Salaf) used to teach children to say: لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ — “There is no deity but Allah.”
